Applications for winter study-abroad trips to Benin and Panama are due Sept. 15. Business courses associated with the trips will begin the week of Sept. 30.
The trip to Benin will take place Dec. 16-23 and be led by Kalu Osiri, director of international business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The associated three-credit course, BSAD 491, will cover the potential of the cash-crop export market in Benin and West Africa. It will also continue a project to design a solar-powered center pivot for irrigation. Students can apply at https://go.unl.edu/appbenin.
From Dec. 26 to Jan. 6, students in BSAD 491 or BSAD 191 can travel to Panama City, where they will work on development and export projects. As part of their courses, students will design a marketing and business plan for a high-end sailboat marina in the city and look at the exportation of Nebraska grain through the Panama Canal. Students can apply at https://go.unl.edu/apppanama.
