Wind Ensemble

The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Wind Ensemble will open its 2018-2019 season with a performance of “Catharsis,” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in Kimball Recital Hall. The recital is part of several upcoming musical events next week on campus.

“Catharsis,” which includes pieces by Bernard Rogers, Jennifer Jolley, and Frank Ticheli, is an emotional journey progressing from joyful memories to unrelenting, violent chaos and a simple song of peace and healing. A program for the recital can be found here.

Fees for the performance are $5 for general admission and $3 for students and seniors.

Other musical events this week include:

Men’s Choral Festival — 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1, Kimball Recital Hall

Jonathan Scales Fourchestra — 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, Kimball Recital Hall

Symphony Orchestra performance — 3 p.m. Oct. 7, Kimball Recital Hall
