Innovative research taking place at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Gundmundsen Sandhills Laboratory is the topic of an episode of Nebraska Public Media’s television and digital series, “What If…”.
Producer and host Mike Tobias takes viewers to Gudmunsen, where researchers are testing and developing new precision ranch technologies, such as virtual fencing, automated feeders and 3D imaging.
Faculty — including Travis Mulliniks, associate professor of animal science; Mitch Stephenson, associate professor of agronomy and horticulture; and Yijie Xion, assistant professor of animal science — discuss new and emerging precision ranch technologies, how they work together, and how ranchers can use them to improve efficiency and profitability.
The program premiered Jan. 5 and will replay throughout the month. Additionally, the episode and extras are available online.
