The work of composition students will be featured in the “Wet Ink!” concert series, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in Westbrook Music Building.

The concerts are organized by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music each semester and feature original student compositions. The students work on the pieces all semester, putting in more than 50 hours of work, ranging from creation of the composition to rehearsal. Each performance will feature different performances.

The term “wet ink” refers to the process that composers used before they had computer software to aid in writing music. They would write music with a fountain pen and paper and new music could be premiered before the ink was even dry.

The programs will range across a variety of styles and instruments.

Both performances are free and open to the public. The Nov. 30 concert will be shown live online.
