Wellness fairs offer screenings to campus community

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Wellness Initiative and partners are offering wellness fairs to the campus community. The “All About You” events, which begin Oct. 20, are free and open to students, faculty and staff.

Dozens of free wellness screenings and related services will be offered. The screenings include stress management, financial wellness and non-fasting cholesterol.

The events, all of which are 8 to 10 a.m., are Oct. 20 and Nov. 3 in the East Union, and Oct. 27 and Nov. 2 in the Nebraska Union. The four events will be held prior to the annual university health risk assessment that employees complete during benefits re-enrollment in November.

“All About You” participants can also get information on body mass index, blood pressure and fasting wellness blood profile — all of which are requested in the annual assessment. Individuals completing the fasting wellness blood profile should fast the morning of the event and bring $25 (cash or check only).

Participants who visit at least seven event booths will receive a wellness bag with free items and be entered to win one of four $50 gift cards to Campus Recreation.

The university’s wellness initiative encourages members of the campus community to be informed about personal health and get connected to resources to improve or maintain wellness status. For more information, click here.
