Walking tours of East Campus gardens continue with a noon to 1 p.m. July 5 exploration of the Department of Entomology’s pollinator garden.

The tours, which are held the first Tuesday of the month, are free and open to the public. The July tour is being held on a Wednesday due to the Fourth of July holiday falling on a Tuesday.

The pollinator gardens consist of a water-wise planting, a pollinator prairie and a pollinator plot that includes areas specifically for swallowtail and monarch larvae. The tour will include information about native plants for pollinators and the hazards of “nativars,” which are cultivars of native plants. If time allows, the tour groups will also visit the Cyril Bish Nut Orchard.
