Nebraska’s Center for Civic Engagement is creating a Financial Literacy Team to help educate members of the Lincoln community about personal finance.

The program will adopt a two-pronged approach, offering financial literacy seminars and partnering with CommunityHope Federal Credit Union with a tax preparation site on Fridays.

The project is seeking up to three volunteers — up to two who are fluent in Spanish — to be a part of the team. Knowledge of personal finance and taxes is not required and will be covered through training exercises. The program will also include details on the IRS tax certification process.
