The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has upgraded the parent/guest dashboard that provides online access to student MyRED information.

Launched with an email announcement March 9, the upgrade allows students with current guest accounts to re-authenticate the accounts, contact information and access levels.

“At Nebraska, we recognize that college can be a collaborative experience for many students and their families,” said Steven Booton, university registrar. “We want to continue to provide the opportunity for important individuals to support their students’ academic careers — and ultimately their success.”

The updated parent/guest dashboard features a number of benefits, including:

  • Easy access to all students to which they are authorized at the University of Nebraska and Nebraska State College systems;

  • Parents/guests will be able to access a single dashboard for all students enrolled in the NU and state college systems; and

  • Simpler account creation process for new parent/guest accounts.

Students control access to their educational and financial records under the regulations of the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Students can grant access to parents/guests to see information displayed within their MyRED account including personal information, financial aid, student accounts and student records as defined by FERPA.

Students who want to modify or grant guest access should visit ferpa.unl.edu/guest-access.
