University’s vaccination rate rises above that of Lancaster County

[University Communication]

The COVID-19 vaccination rates among University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff exceed that of Lancaster County.

As reported through the university’s voluntary registry on Oct. 7, 78.3% of the university community is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That places the university ahead of Lancaster County’s vaccination rate of 74.1%, which leads the Cornhusker State.

Broken down the self-reported vaccination among campus groups is 84% for faculty, 76% staff and 75% students (those participating in on-campus courses this fall).

The university’s Voluntary COVID-19 Vaccine Registry continues to be offered to the campus community. Students, faculty and staff who participate in the registry are exempt from the university’s weekly COVID-19 testing protocol.

Huskers not yet fully-vaccinated are encouraged to complete vaccination against COVID-19. The vaccine is available through the University Health Center or community-based options.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department has also started offering vaccine booster doses. Learn more here
