University performers on ‘Friday Live’

University of Nebraska–Lincoln Vocal Jazz Ensemble is one of the special performers on NET's "Friday Live" Oct. 27.

NET’s “Friday Live” arts and entertainment radio show will feature special performances from members of Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Lincoln Choral Artists and Lincoln Early Music Consort when it broadcasts at 9 a.m. Oct. 27, live from NET, 1800 N. 33rd St.

The public is invited to this free event with complimentary refreshments served beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Ron Hull Studio. Host Genevieve Randall will also give audience members the latest about music, arts, literature and events happening around the state.

On the show, Ed Polochick, music director for the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, will accompany two performances from its “If It Ain’t Baroque…” concert, including tenor Drew Duncan and father-and-son trumpet duo Tom Kelly and Jonah Kelly.

The Lincoln Choral Artists will feature instrumental and vocal ensembles from its upcoming concert with music of and inspired by the Renaissance. In addition, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform a piece from its upcoming Omaha performance at Jazz Up 2017.
