University Libraries offers Course Reserves service through Canvas

The Office of Graduate Studies, in collaboration with many other offices on campus, have developed guidelines and resources to help graduate students, faculty and staff during the pandemic.

The University Libraries provides Course Reserves services via Canvas in support of teaching and learning. The goal of this program is to ensure all students have seamless access to affordable course materials through Canvas.

The libraries recommend using electronic materials (journal articles, book chapters, streaming video, etc.) whenever possible. Open access educational materials and other free resources may be added to course reserves as well.

All teaching instructors and staff can submit requests to create a Libraries Course Materials list. The Libraries may help with locating, purchasing and integrating materials to Canvas.

All requests are processed in the order received. Course Reserves continue to be provided electronically in respect to Fair Use rights and all current copyright holders and law.

For additional information regarding Libraries Course Materials requests and help with Canvas, send emails to LibrariesReserves@unl.edu or visit the Libraries Reserves homepage.

Libraries Course Materials is the reserves platform available in Canvas. Course Material Lists can be created for all teaching instructors and staff and can be activated in the navigation menu of their courses in Canvas.

There will be a Libraries Course Materials Overview session on Sept. 27 held over Zoom, in which they will cover all you need to know to integrate libraries materials into your courses and demonstrate options for organizing resources and engaging with students. Teaching instructors and staff are all welcome.
