The University of Nebraska has granted additional leave time to all leave-eligible employees.

The expanded administrative leave will be observed on Dec. 22-23. The last work day of the year is Dec. 21. The university will be closed Dec. 24 for an already-scheduled holiday in observance of Dec. 25.

Monthly paid leave-eligible employees will receive regular salary for these days and do not have to submit administrative leave. If monthly employees have already submitted leave for these days they should delete the leave request via Firefly or contact their department payroll office for assistance.

Bi-weekly paid leave-eligible employees will need to record administrative leave on the timesheet for these days.

Monthly and bi-weekly employees deemed to be “essential” employees required to work on Dec. 22-23 will receive pay for hours worked and take administrative leave with pay at a later date. Employees do not have the option to be paid for hours worked plus paid administrative leave on Dec. 22-23. Hours worked must be taken as administrative leave at a later date.

Employees should contact their respective department payroll office for more information.
