All University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff will experience a short email downtime beginning at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Access will be available the morning of Jan. 21.

During the downtime, users will not be able to send or receive email from university email accounts. No data or email will be lost during the outage.

Changes being made on Jan. 20 are meant to better protect faculty, staff and student email from cyberattacks. It also will help the university to align services with Executive Memorandum 16. The memorandum serves as the University of Nebraska system’s definitive statement on the use of electronic devices, software and information systems within the academic and employment settings of the university. Learn more about the memorandum.

Individuals who encounter any issues with university email accounts after the update should contact support@nebraska.edu.
