Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor has released a new Faculty TipSheet that provides helpful advice for recharging and reconnecting during the Winterim.

“Many of us have been working from home in some capacity since March, and the summer provided some respite during that time,” said Susan Swearer, Willa Cather Professor of Educational Psychology and director of faculty development. “December and January will be more challenging with increasing coronavirus cases and colder weather in Nebraska. These tips can help us lean into change and reconnect with loved ones and ourselves.”

For those not teaching during the fall and spring three-week sessions, using the Winterim as an opportunity to recharge, develop new courses, and focus on research and writing can help provide a sense of purpose, productivity, and personal growth.

Resources at the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity can also be helpful, especially the Every Semester Needs a Plan webinar.

The new Faculty TipSheet is one of a series that is available on the EVC Office website.
