The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Symphonic Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 10 in Kimball Recital Hall.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will also be live webcast.

The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Tony Falcone, associate director of bands, has the distinction of being the university’s top symphonic ensemble. Its mission is to provide instrumentalists with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop the techniques and musical instincts appropriate to a symphonic setting.

The Symphonic Band’s program March 10 is titled “Suite Talk” and will be conducted by Falcone and Trevor Frost, graduate assistant conductor.

“You’ll hear works by Anthony O’Toole, Gustav Holst, Vincent Perischetti and Robert Rumbelow’s powerful piece ‘Night,’ which is based on impressions evoked by the novel of the same title by 1986 Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel,” Falcone said.
