Sustainability on Wheels to roll into Nebraska East Union

The Sustainability on Wheels team will visit units across campus during the spring semester.
The next Sustainability on Wheels event for faculty and staff is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Nebraska East Union. The program aims to inform about sustainable initiatives on campus.

Sustainability on Wheels is coming to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources on Feb. 23. The interactive event is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Nebraska East Union’s Great Plains Room.

Developed by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Sustainability and supported by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, the Sustainability on Wheels program provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to learn about sustainable practices and initiatives on campus.

The Office of Sustainability aims to partner with each academic college on campus to offer convenient Sustainability on Wheels events to personnel. At the events, faculty and staff have the opportunity to meet and make connections with campus partners who are sustainability experts in their respective fields. Campus partners will share information on their department, how their department contributes to a more sustainable campus, and how faculty and staff can personally help support these sustainability initiatives in a casual, conversational manner.

Faculty and staff participating in the events have an option to sign a pledge committing to support sustainability initiatives. The pledges are varied across partners, so participants can select actions or habit changes that pertain to their interests. Attendees will also have the opportunity to earn giveaway items that will serve as a resource for them on their sustainability journey.

More details on the program are available in Nebraska Today or via the Sustainability on Wheels website.
