Students to get @huskers email accounts

Starting this spring, students will receive email accounts.
Starting this spring, students will receive email accounts.

This spring, all University of Nebraska-Lincoln students are getting an email, which will improve overall service and resources for students. Beginning May 20, will become the primary email for all students and official university communications.

As the university makes this transition, students who already have an account will not have access to their email between 2 p.m. April 13 and 8 a.m. April 15.

Canvas should always be used to communicate with students about coursework, but if there are instances where email is necessary, faculty and staff need to have an alternative method in place to be in contact with students during that weekend.

Students whose emails are affected will be getting messages and reminders beginning this week with instructions. In addition, Information Technology Services has created an online resource and is providing enhanced support during the next few weeks for all aspects of the email transition.

Online Resources — Helpful links are posted for accessing email after April 15 and for reestablishing settings on electronic devices.

Hands-on assistance — Dates and times are listed for pop-up help stations in the Nebraska Unions and Huskertech locations across campus.

Huskertech Support — For anyone who can’t visit a pop-up station in person, they can contact Huskertech Help Center at 402-472-3970 or

If you are a faculty or staff member who has an address, you should have received an email about how the transition will affect your address. If you haven’t received this information, contact the Huskertech Help Center before April 13 at 402-472-3970 and ask for an Office 365 Specialist for assistance.
