Cultures and Conversation Summer Speaker Series will host guest speaker Lanetta Edison-Soe via Zoom from 2 to 3 p.m. July 27.

Edison-Soe, a member of the Karen ethnic group from Burma, will share her story in the talk, “Never Forget.” She lived for six years in Burma’s Karen state as an internal displaced person and spent 16 years in a refugee camp in Thailand.

Her first home in the United States was in New York, moving there in 2006. She relocated to Lincoln in 2017 and works at the Asian Community and Culture Center as the Karen community advocate and the health programs coordinator.
