Nebraska’s Jamie Reimer, assistant professor of voice, sings the National Anthem during Chancellor Ronnie Green’s installation on April 6, 2017. Reimer will perform in a faculty recital on Sept. 20.

Soprano Jamie Reimer and pianist Stacie Haneline will perform “She Persisted,” a recital of art songs and spirituals by living American female composers, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Kimball Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Reimer, assistant professor of voice, has performed in opera, oratorio and recital venues around the United States, Italy, Germany, Brazil and Australia. With a particular interest in contemporary American art song, Reimer’s research focuses on the life and work of composer Robert Owens. In 2012, she gave the world premiere of Owens’ 4 Sonnets to Eleonora Duse, composed for her voice, and performed the role of Ursula in the 2015 North American premiere of his opera “Culture! Culture!”

Haneline, a University of Nebraska at Omaha lecturer and pianist, has performed at the Sydney Opera House, New York City Opera, and Kennedy Center. Shey serves as the collaborative pianist for visiting artists, faculty, and ensembles at the university.

The recital will also be streamed live on the Glenn Korff School of Music’s webcast page.
