The Employee Assistance Program will offer the “Seven Principles” course on Feb. 18.

The course is based on the internationally-acclaimed research of John and Julie Gottman, and is designed to strengthen your marriage or committed relationship.

This educational and experiential class is designed for any couple in a committed relationship. You and your partner will learn:

  • How to foster respect, affection and closeness in your relationship.
  • Build and share a deeper connection with each other.
  • How to keep conflict discussions calm, how to break through conflicted gridlock and how to strengthen and maintain the gains in your relationship.

The course is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with an hour lunch break) in the Nebraska East Union.

Registration deadline is Feb. 10. Contact EAP to register at eap@unl.edu or 402-472-3107.

Participants must purchase the Seven Principles Couples Set, which includes two workbooks, one copy of “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work,” and Love Maps and Open-Ended Questions card decks.
