Ross adds ‘Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy’ to streaming service

Preview: "Diane Kennedy: Nothing Fancy"

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center has added “Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy” to its list of films available via streaming.

The Ross is temporarily closed as part of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theatre has continued to offer films online via a streaming option. A complete list of films offered and information on how to access them are available on the Ross website.

A two-time James Beard Award winner, Kennedy is often referred to as the Julia Child of Mexico. Now at the age of 97, Kennedy is the author of nine Mexican cookbooks and has spent more than 60 years researching and documenting the regional cuisines of Mexico.

Kennedy has lived off the grid on an eight-acre range outside Zitácuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, since the 1970s, growing her own crops and using solar power to run her home. Aware of her mortality, Kennedy is working tirelessly to solidify the legacy of her life’s efforts, with the goal of turning her home into a foundation for culinary education.

“Diane Kennedy” features extensive interviews with culinary icons and famed chefs José Andrés, Rick Bayless, Gabriela Camara and Alice Waters. The film is available to watch via the Ross through June 3.
