The Nebraska Annual Social Indicators Survey is a mail survey of around 1,000 Nebraska adults. It has been conducted since 1977 and is recognized by researchers, state agencies and legislators as a scientific way to measure public opinion and behaviors regarding various issues that face Nebraskans.

The Bureau of Sociological Research works with researchers to develop and include survey items that best suit their needs and interests. The survey represents a cost-effective way to obtain survey data. The expense for obtaining basic demographic information such as age, sex, family and employment is shared by all participating researchers. Costs for the upcoming survey are estimated to be $7,500 per page.

Data collection is scheduled to begin January 2022 with client data delivered in May 2022. In order to meet these deadlines, the Bureau of Sociological Research is encouraging prospective clients to initiate discussions as soon as possible but no later than Nov. 5.

Researchers interested in participating, or who have questions about possible involvement, should contact Amanda Ganshert at aganshert@unl.edu. Additional details regarding the survey are available on the Nebraska Annual Social Indicators Survey website.
