To help faculty and staff better handle stress, the Employee Assistance Program is offering “Find Your Calm, Restore Your Zenergy.”

The program features a specially-designed relaxation room open to employees in the Employee Assistance Program office in the 501 Building. As a special promotion for the month of November, faculty and staff are invited to schedule a 15-minute session where they can learn to relax, be mindful, breathe or meditate in the calm, quiet space.

Guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, voice prompted meditation, breathing exercise, aroma therapy and other relaxation strategies will be offered. These practices will help build skills to manage stress, increase self-awareness, focus on the present, reduce negative emotion and increase both patience and tolerance.

University employees are invited to try at least three 15-minute sessions in order to learn a variety of skills. Appointments can be set up by calling 402-472-3107 or sending email to eap@unl.edu.
