The University Libraries will host a free writing retreat for faculty and graduate students May 7-11.

The retreat’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for participants to focus on their academic writing and publishing projects in the quiet week after the end of spring semester. The retreat is free, but limited to 70 participants.

Registration is now open and available here.

Hosting the retreat in Love Library allows the participants to use the library spaces and attend informative workshops designed to maximize time and effort.

The retreat is popular, and registration fills up quickly.

Writing coaches will be on hand to provide guidance and answer questions. Expert advice on writing and publishing will be offered in brief sessions throughout the day.

The retreat’s schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7-10 and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11.

A continental breakfast and coffee will be served each morning, and snacks will be provided each afternoon. Participants should bring a bag lunch or be prepared to go out and purchase lunch.

The University Libraries, Office of Graduate Studies and Writing Center are co-sponsoring the retreat. For more information, contact Anna Wigtil at 402-472-2545 or awigtil2@unl.edu.
