Nebraska students participate in a community service event. On Sept. 10, the university will participate in the 9/11 National Day of Service.

Registration is open for a 9/11 National Day of Service on Sept. 10, an event hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement.

The 9/11 National Day of Service is a nationwide event that began in 2002. People serve their communities on this day to honor the victims, survivors, firefighters and law enforcement personnel who responded to the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The service event is from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 10. Registration, which is open through 4 p.m. Sept. 7, is available online.
