An online research-based toolkit, Reach Out for Wellness, was created and designed to support the mental health needs of Nebraska Extension professionals whose jobs include helping communities following natural disasters.

Participation is free, self-paced and will provide you with practical and individualized strategies to help you better understand your own wellness, gain insights on the personal impacts of natural disasters, and you’ll learn how to use your support system to cope with stress related to natural disasters.

The Reach Out for Wellness Toolkit includes a Disaster Recovery Self-Assessment and a Reach Out for Wellness Course. The course modules include: • Module 1: Disasters and Extension’s Role • Module 2: Natural Disaster-Related Trauma & the Impacts on Extension Personnel • Module 3: Mindfulness at Work • Module 4: Reflective Practice: Looking at the Work from the Inside Out • Module 5: Grief in the Workplace

Learn how to access the Reach Out for Wellness Toolkit, self-assessment and course.
