Quilt House hosts National Quilting Day

International Quilt Study Center and Museum

The International Quilt Study Center and Museum will host a day of fun from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 in honor of National Quilting Day. Activities include lectures, demonstrations and hands-on opportunities to learn more about quilting traditions.

For the first time ever, the center will partner with the Quilt Alliance to capture the stories of quilts, quiltmakers and quilt lovers with “Go Tell It at the Quilt Museum.” The protocol for “Go Tell It” is brief and personal: one person talking about one quilt in front of one video camera for three minutes, recording the most essential and compelling details of the quilt according to the “teller.”

This free event is sponsored by Lincoln Quilters Guild, Nebraska State Quilt Guild, AccuQuilt, Aurifil and Handi Quilter.

Visit the center’s website for more information about the event and activities available.
