October is Domestic/Dating Violence Awareness Month.

Additionally, Oct. 19 is the nationally-recognized “Purple Thursday.” The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Center for Advocacy, Response and Education is encouraging the campus community to wear purple to spread awareness and to show support for those who have experienced domestic/dating violence and abuse.

Teams can request materials, and CARE will deliver ribbons, stickers, and info flyers to your department, organization, or group. This gesture lets the Husker community know that help is available and survivors are not alone.

Participants can help spread the word on Instagram by tagging @care_at_unl and using hashtags #HuskersCare #PurpleThursday and #DVAM2023.
