Independence Day weekend is one of four major holiday weekends throughout the year when the Visual Drought Atlas seeks photo submissions to help show how drought does (or doesn’t) look in one’s surroundings.

The atlas can be found on the National Drought Mitigation Center website. The center is based in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Natural Resources.
