Pfizer booster clinics available to university employees

Mary Neill vaccinates Aubrey Busteed at a College of Nursing vaccination clinic on Jan. 29.

Under CDC policy, those who work in education, including employees at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, qualify to receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine six months after receiving a second dose of Pfizer.

Boosters are available to faculty, staff and student employees (both undergraduate and graduate) of any age.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department is holding booster clinics throughout October. Those attending the clinics must bring their vaccination cards and plan to wait 15 minutes following the vaccination. Appointments for the clinics can be made here.

Scheduled booster clinics are:

  • Oct. 16, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Southeast High School, 2930 S. 37th St. (second dose of Pfizer received on or before April 16)

  • Oct. 20, 8 a.m-5 p.m., Pinnacle Bank Arena (second dose of Pfizer received on or before April 20)

  • Oct. 23, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., North Star High School, 5801 N. 33rd St. (second dose of Pfizer received on or before April 23)

Signage will direct you to the appropriate entrance doors at each of the high schools. Parking at Pinnacle Bank Arena will be in the attached garage on the west side.
