Notes@Noon concert series begins Sept. 26

Notes@Noon, a concert series featuring a variety of musicians, will begin at noon Sept. 26 in the Learning Commons of Love Library with a performance titled “Bass Meets Voice.” The recital is free and open to the public.

“Bass Meets Voice” features Jackie Allen, award-winning jazz vocalist, and Hans Sturm, professor of double bass and jazz studies in the Glenn Korff School of Music. The husband and wife duo have performed across the country and internationally. They will present music from the Early Bird Project, new compositions inspired by early to mid-20th century Nebraska singers and composers.

Other performances include:

  • Oct. 24 — Students in the School of Music will present solos and duets. The event will feature harp, oboe, percussion, flute and violin performances.

  • Nov. 14 — Performance by the Student Chamber Ensemble of the School of Music.

Spring concerts will be held in January, February and March. Dates will be announced.
