Nine ROTC cadets to receive military commissions

Nine cadets in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Reserve Officer Training Corps will receive military commissions in ceremonies Dec. 15 and 16.

Four cadets in Air Force ROTC will be commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 in the second-floor lobby of the Nebraska State Capitol, 1445 K St.; two cadets in Army ROTC will be commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Army at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Nebraska Union’s Regency Suite, 1400 R St.; and three cadets in Navy ROTC will receive commissions at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium, two as ensigns in the U.S. Navy and one as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

  • Bellevue: Ensign James P. Burroughs III, Navy.

  • Elm Creek: 2nd Lt. Dalton Conner Meier, Air Force.

  • Grand Island: 2nd Lt. Jacob R. Garcia, Marine Corps.

  • Lincoln: 2nd Lt. Christian Chance Phifer, Air Force; 2nd Lt. Samuel D. Schulz, Army.

  • Nebraska City: Ensign Tyler C. Martin, Navy.

ELSEWHERE:

  • Highland, California: 2nd Lt. Courtney Elizabeth Kovensky, Air Force.

  • Bonners Ferry, Idaho: 2nd Lt. Christian L. Pinkerton, Army.

  • Chancellor, South Dakota: 2nd Lt. Tanner James Groshens, Air Force.
