Nebraska Today returns to regular publication schedule Aug. 14

Nebraska Today will transition to its fall/spring semester publication schedule starting Aug. 14.

The Nebraska Today electronic newsletter will be distributed Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer months, it appears in campus inboxes on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Nebraska Today website returns with daily news updates Aug. 14.

Faculty, staff and students can submit stories to be considered for Nebraska Today online by logging in to the Announce system with university username/password combinations.

Faculty and staff are automatically subscribed to the Nebraska Today e-newsletter. Students, emeriti, alumni and the public can subscribe to the publication online.

Oversight of Nebraska Today is provided by the University Communication news team. Members of that team include:

Steve Smith, news director, who is responsible for all university-level news content and platforms. He works with administrators, faculty and representatives from Nebraska’s various colleges on all matters of communications; writes and edits news releases; works with media to connect them with campus sources; coordinates news conferences; is the university’s spokesman; manages news social media feeds; and is a member of the university’s crisis-management communications team. Troy Fedderson, internal news editor, who oversees and edits the Nebraska Today homepage and its electronic newsletter. He also writes and edits news releases; and works with faculty, staff, administrators, campus communicators and others to report stories of interest for campus as well as external audiences. Sean Hagewood, news coordinator, who oversees all aspects of Nebraska news releases including their preparation, development and scheduling. He also works with members of the local and regional media to connect them with campus sources and writes general-assignment news stories about the university. Leslie Reed, national news editor, who is a news writer and editor who places Nebraska sources and stories in national media. She works with faculty, staff, administrators and campus communicators to identify and write news stories with a potential national audience and regularly maintains contact with the national media to help position the university as a national leader.
