The Nebraska Alumni Association is the trusted heart and home for alumni engagement at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The team works together with campus partners to transform alumni pride and loyalty into action for the advancement of the university and Husker family around the world.

On June 24, 1874, the first five graduates of the University of Nebraska “duly organized themselves into an alumni association for purposes of mutual social improvement and the advancement of the interests of the university, whose memories and benefits they wish to perpetuate.” A lot has changed in the 150 years since its founding, but the one constant that remains is the passion that alumni have for Dear Old Nebraska U.

“For 150 years, the Nebraska Alumni Association has built meaningful connections between Huskers past, present and future, celebrated our university’s achievements and aspirations, championed alumni interests and strengthened the Nebraska tradition,” said Shelley Zaborowski, alumni association executive director. “We’re honored to celebrate this legacy.”

Here’s how this mission comes to life today:

• Build meaningful connections between Huskers past, present and future;

• Each year, the alumni association hosts over 100 events that reach thousands of alumni and friends. From Husker Huddle pre-game parties to career conferences, networking events and travel, the Husker spirit is spread far and wide; and

• Celebrate the university’s achievements and aspirations.

We take the lead in finding connections, building on our alumni’s pride and loyalty, and transforming them into actions that strengthen our university. Alumni Association digital touchpoints reach over 3 million and Nebraska Quarterly magazine boasts 150,000 recipients each year. Storytelling across channels celebrates and spreads the news and impact of the university. Additionally, over 23,000 dues-paying members support our work to serve, unite and celebrate Huskers everywhere.

Each year we welcome some of our best and brightest alumni back to campus for our Alumni Masters celebration and honor some of our most distinguished alumni and friends with our annual alumni awards. We also create opportunities to use their collective voice, giving Nebraska graduates a platform to connect with university and state leaders.
