NCLUDE to highlight chosen name and gender identity policy

Released Sept. 30, the Campus Security and Fire Safety Report is published annually by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Police Department in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crimes Statistics Act.

The Nebraska Community of Learners — Understanding Diversity through Education, will host its first meeting for the academic year Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For this session, a panel of members from the Non-binary Gender Values Steering Committee will discuss Executive Memorandum No. 40, the University of Nebraska system’s new policy on chosen names and gender identity.

NCLUDE is an opportunity for participants to contribute to ongoing resources related to inclusive excellence and to connect the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to the expanded community. Registration is now open on the NCLUDE website. The event is free and open to the entire campus community.

The first virtual event of the academic year will host the following panelists:

She served in the values, learning and development workgroup on the non-binary gender values steering committee and is a member of the chancellor’s commission on the status of gender and sexual identity.
