Libraries to launch Quick Tip Research Series

The Digital Commons, a collaborative service by the University Libraries, was recently ranked among the best digital repositories in the world.

The University Libraries will hold a Quick Tip Research Series, which will feature different workshops to help students utilize resources and improve studying habits.

The eight one-hour presentations, which are in Love Library, Peterson Room 221, include:

  • “Research 101” – 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4
  • “How to Read Long Articles” – 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1

“Research 101” is all about finding and using sources in library databases. This will help students who are struggling with a research assignment to devise a research strategy.

“How to Read Long Articles” will help students read and understand the long scholarly articles and use the information in assignments. Students at this workshop will get tips on how to read long scholarly articles in the humanities, sciences and social sciences.
