A documentary film produced by University of Nebraska–Lincoln historian James Le Sueur is gaining accolades at several film festivals, including earning the Best Feature Documentary at the Big Apple Film Festival.

The film, “The Art of Dissent,” explores the role of dissidents before and after the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Le Sueur, Samuel Clark Waugh Distinguished Professor of International Relations and chair of the history department, held a public viewing for the Lincoln community in September. Over the last year, the film has been selected for the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival and the Newburyport Documentary Festival, in addition to the Big Apple Film Festival.
