With an assist from Lincoln’s almost record-breaking season of snowfall, the scooping power of Landscape Services is making local headlines.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln team’s work in efficiently clearing campus sidewalks and parking lots after a larger-than-expected overnight snowfall was highlighted in a March 7 story by KLKN-TV (Channel 8, ABC and a March 8 live shot by KOLN/KGIN (Channel 10-11, CBS).

The stories showcase how the nearly 100 employees (almost half of whom are students) arrive as early as 1 a.m. to clear the university’s 15 miles of streets, 37 miles of sidewalks and 90 acres of parking lots.

“We’re honestly doing the best that we can,” said Anna Yost, a landscape assistant. “We have a lot of ground to cover. If there are any concerns, I encourage people to call the service desk and let us know because it helps us get on it right away.”
