Korean culture focus of weeklong event

Experience Korea, a weeklong event celebrating Korean culture, will take place Feb. 26 through March 1 in the Nebraska Union.

The event, sponsored by Union Bank and Trust and hosted by Student Involvement’s 2018 Pitch-a-Project winners, will allow visitors to experience traditional Korean dress, food and language.

A schedule for the week includes:

  • Noon Feb. 25, Nebraska Union booth area — Participants will learn how to write their name in Korean.
  • 11 a.m. Feb. 26, Union Bank in Nebraska Union — Free samples of Korean food and snacks will be provided.
  • Noon Feb. 27, Nebraska Union Crib — Visitors can take a picture in traditional Korean clothing.
  • 7 p.m. Feb. 28, Nebraska Union Regency Room — A simulation will explore the struggles of North Korean refugees.
  • 7 p.m. March 1, Nebraska Union Ballroom — The last evening of Experience Korea will feature free food and student performances. Registration in advance by Feb. 25 is required.
