John-Michael Keyes, founder of the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, will present the university’s Thomas C. Sorensen Public Policy Seminar from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium. The seminar is free and open to the public.

Keyes founded the I Love U Guys Foundation in 2006 with his wife Ellen after a school shooting took the life of their daughter, Emily. Today, the organization is led by survivors, family members, first responders and community members with a vested interest in safety, preparedness and reunification in schools.

The I Love U Guys Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to school and community safety and family reunification following a crisis. At the Sept. 9 seminar, Keyes will discuss the work of his nonprofit over the years.

Co-sponsors for the seminar include the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, Big Red Resilience and Well-Being, Center for Civic Engagement, College of Education and Human Sciences, LGBTQA+ Resource Center, Women’s Center and the College of Arts and Sciences through the Thomas C. Sorensen Endowment.
