As Nebraska was struggling to recover from historic flooding in 2019, the university deployed student workers across the state in serviceships.

Despite the disaster, it also made a difference in the lives of these University of Nebraska-Lincoln students who were often from areas affected. One student from O’Neill took on a flood serviceship, and made a life-changing decision along the way. Here’s his story.
