Scott Watkins, professor of piano at Jacksonville University in Florida, will perform a piano recital at 3 p.m. Nov. 11 in Westbrook Music Building. The free and public recital is one of several musical events taking place on campus this week.

The performance will include Franz Schubert’s “Four Impromptus, Op. 90,” Franz Liszt’s “Legend of St. Francis Walking on the Waves,” and Nebraska composer Howard Hanson’s “Symphonic Rhapsody.”

Watkins has appeared as a recitalist, chamber musician, and soloist with orchestras in more than thirty countries around the world. He has given four solo recitals at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and has performed at The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as well as Chicago’s Cultural Center.
