Jacht offers Green a glimpse at ad agency life

Chancellor Ronnie Green is exploring campus life in the “Green at…” video series. In his most recent adventure, Green joined the team at Jacht, a student-run advertising agency.

Offered through the College of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jacht was launched 10 years ago by Amy Struthers as a way to offer experiential learning to students. More than 50 students work in the agency’s Haymarket space each semester, representing big and small clients — from local businesses to Omaha Public Schools.

The “Green at…” series launched in August with the chancellor assisting Nebraska Honors Program students as they moved into the Knoll Residential Center. The series has featured Green helping honors students move in; learning the ups and downs of flying drones; driving a student-built Baja race car; planting poinsettias with the Horticulture Club; and gaining pointers from Nebraska’s Big Ten championship speech and debate team.
