Jacht Agency to host inaugural award presentation, the Jachtys

Three representatives of Swanson Russell — two men and a woman — speak to a room of a dozen-plus students in the Jacht Ad Agency.
Jacht Agency is a full-service, student-run advertising agency through the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Jacht Agency has announced its Spring 2023 Final Presentation, the Jachtys, taking place at 5 p.m. May 16 via YouTube live stream.

Jacht Agency is a full-service, student-run advertising agency through the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. It provides students with real-world experience that builds on classroom instruction by giving students opportunities to work with various clients in an advertising agency setting.

This award-style ceremony is a new take on Jacht’s live-streamed final presentations and will showcase the outstanding work accomplished by the 55 Jachters for the agency’s 15 clients.

Jacht’s clients included regional businesses and organizations such as the Nebraska Department of Transportation and People’s City Mission, as well as local clients like the Backyard Farmer organization.

Jacht provides a variety of creative services for its clients, from in-depth research analyses and social media strategies to video production and graphic design.

For the first time in Jacht history, the students worked to rethink the final presentation event format. This year, Jacht is hosting the “Jachtys” , an award-style ceremony to feature the agency’s nationally recognized campaign deliverables. Leading this committee included Vashti Parks, Director of Account Strategy, and Olivia Murphy, Art Director of Copy and Strategy.

“We thought the Jachtys would be an entertaining way to present the work we’ve done this semester,” Parks said, “and it would allow us to better showcase the specific achievements of each team this semester.”

“Our team wanted to do something different and exciting for our clients to enjoy, and we found that other Jachters were more passionate about doing an award ceremony than anything we’ve done in the past,” Murphy said, “I can tell everyone is looking forward to the very special night!”
