Senior plant and landscape systems majors Briezy Kroeger, left, and Elaina Madison tend to plants for the spring bedding plant sale in the East Campus greenhouse.

The Horticulture Club will host a spring bedding plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 and 5, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 6 at the Teaching Greenhouse West on East Campus.

Plants available include tomatoes, vegetables, herbs and flowering annuals such as marigolds, petunias and geraniums. There are also mixed planters and hanging baskets. Only cash or check will be accepted.

All plants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Our meetings are really fun. We do announcements and then come to the greenhouse and have a lot of fun working to put the plants together. We are excited for people to see what we have this year,” said Elaina Madison, club president.

The Horticulture Club is a University of Nebraska–Lincoln Recognized Student Organization that connects students who have an interest in growing and caring for plants, are interested in a career in horticulture, and wish to engage with industry professionals. Plant sales are periodically held throughout the year to fund programming activities, student travel and facility improvements.
