Governor signs state budget package, including university funding

The "I Love NU" Advocacy Day is 2 to 5 p.m. March 6 at the Nebraska State Capitol. The event is free and open to the public.

The two-year budget package approved April 20 by the Nebraska Legislature was signed by Governor Pete Ricketts on April 26.

The budget includes increased funding for the University of Nebraska system, the continuation of a scholarship program for students in high-need areas, and the extension of a deferred maintenance partnership that will cover an estimated $800 million in facility repairs.

Ricketts approved the 2021-23 state budget package with no line-item vetoes.
