Genealogy group examines ways to find female ancestors

The Digital Commons, a collaborative service by the University Libraries, was recently ranked among the best digital repositories in the world.
The Genealogy Over Lunch group meets monthly in Love Library. The next meeting, which will examine ways to find female ancestors, is May 17.

Finding female ancestors is one of the many challenges in genealogical research. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Genealogy over Lunch program will discuss tips on how to improve these searchers in its next meeting, 11:30 a.m. May 17 in Love Library South, Room 318.

The discussion is free and open to the campus community. Individuals who have had success tracking female ancestors are encouraged to share tips.

Organized by the University Libraries, the group aims to help students, faculty and staff explore and organize family histories. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch to the hour-long gatherings.
