Frederic, Konger, Torquati win Combined Campaign prizes

Love Library is illuminated during the 2019 Glow Big Red event. Buildings were not lit up this year to conserve electricity amid the rolling blackouts in the central U.S.

Three employees have won prizes for being first-week participants in the 2021-22 Combined Campaign for Health and Human Services.

The annual United Way/Combined Health Agencies Drive of Nebraska campaign benefits more than 130 local agencies that assist members of the community. The university is a longtime participant in the community fundraiser, which is being offered through Nov. 12.

Those employees and prizes earned in the first week of the competition are:

  • Tyler Frederic, Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center, one pair of Husker football tickets;

  • Kirk Konger, Facilities Management and Planning (Building Systems Maintenance), one pair of Husker volleyball tickets; and

  • Julia Torquati, professor of child, youth and family studies, one pair of Lied Center tickets.

To encourage participation by faculty and staff, weekly individual prizes are being awarded and the Chancellor’s Cup will be presented to the campus division that records the greatest number of employees who participate. Leaders in the first week of the group competition were announced Nov. 1.
