Ricky C. Simmons will sign copies of his new book, “Explosion of Redemption: Trying to Win the Game of Personal Forgiveness in Life” from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 24 at the University Bookstore, lower level of the Nebraska Union.

The book tracks Simmons’ journey from playing for the Huskers and the NFL to becoming a drug addict and going to prison.

In 2007, soon after entering prison, Simmons received a short letter from former Husker football head coach Tom Osborne. The letter turned Simmons’ life around as it inspired him to live a new life driven by the simple concept of taking responsibility for his actions.

Simmons feels by sharing this story, he can help others see a light of perseverance and forgiveness in areas where darkness is present.
