Faculty, staff parenting course begins March 21

The Employee Assistance Program is offering a seven-week parenting class based on the "Becoming a Love and Logic Parent" program. The class offers ways to raise a responsible child that learns from the consequences of their own mistakes.

The Employee Assistance Program will host a six-week parenting class, “Parenting the Love and Logic Way,” beginning at noon March 21 at the 501 Building, Room 22. The course is open to all university faculty and staff.

“Parenting the Love and Logic Way” will feature strategies to raise a responsible child who learns from the consequences of their mistakes. Participants will learn about preparing children for the real world and avoiding power struggles by letting empathy and consequences do the teaching. Those who attend the first class will receive an overview of the six-week class schedule and various educational materials to strengthen their parenting knowledge.

Participants should park in the A lot near the 501 Building. Those without an A lot sticker can park in Stadium Drive Parking Garage, 625 Stadium Drive, and bring their ticket for validation.

Registration for the parenting class can be completed by calling the Employee Assistance Program at 402-472-3107.
